Joy’s journey with cricket began at Clemon Chandpur Cricket Academy. With advice from his uncle who serves in the BGB, he was admitted to the BKSP in 2014. In 2019’s December Joy was picked in the Bangladesh’s squad for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Joy scored a brilliant hundred against the Kiwi boys in the second Super League semi-final. Joy who mainly bats as an opener in test cricket, can also play at 3, or even in the middle order based on the situation. He plays in all formats in the BD domestic competitions however, he is currently a part of the Bangladesh Test Team squad. Joy also plays in the white ball cricket but so far only for the BD Emerging or A team. His domestic teams have been Chittagong Division, Gazi Group Chattogram, Comilla Victorians, and Khulna Tigers.
